Scotch-aroos ( microwave )

  • 1 cup white granulated sugar - use dry measuring cup
  • 1 cup white corn syrup - measure in liquid measuring cup while reading at eye-level & scrape out with rubber spatula
  • 1 cup cream peanut butter - use dry measuring cup - level off

    Microwave for 1:30 minutes then stir.
    Microwave for another 1:30 minutes then stir.

  • Add 6 cups rice krispies-type cereal ( level off cereal ) and mix well to coat

    Pour into 9x13 inch pan sprayed w/PAM and press flat.
    Run rubber spatula around inside of pan to pull batter away from pan.
    Cool and frost.

    Frost with
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup semi-sweet *chocolate chips

    Melt in microwave for 1:00 minute and stir; microwave 1 minute more. Stir until smooth. Pour over cereal and spread in an "S" swirl the length of the pan, avaoiding the sides of pan.
    Cool. Store airtight.

    *(any water or corn syrup in chocolate mixture will make it hard)

    1 - 9x13" pan yields 8 large AHS Scotch-aroos or 24 smaller bars
